Battery negative to chassis

battery negaitve to engine block

now the alt, it's battery positive straight to alternator? Basically run a wire from the positive terminal to the spot on the alternator correct? Does it need to be fused? I have a 80A fuse I can add if i need, but i need to make sure. 90A alt too.

pic to help better understnad my q

It is Battery negative to chassis, Engine block to chassis, not Battery negative to engine block. There should be a little boot on your alternator where your stock wire goes, and you then add your additional 0g to it. It should normally be fused, but, if you trust you have everything 100% correct, you don't have too. But it is a nice little investment JUST in case anything happens. Better off spending ~$20 then having to buy a new alt, battery, etc, if something does by chance happen.

Engine block to ground? Then why is there 2 split negatives off my battery terminal? One goes straight to the chassis, and one goes down about 2 feet to the engine block it looks like. Different cable i suppose? and thank you for actually helping insted of the "noob" or "xD" replies

thanks for the correction also OP you can leave all the stock wires in place and just add over them electricity takes the path of least resistance so no need to pull the old wires out

It's not like it actually matters, it could actually be preferable to go straight from the engine block to negative battery terminal provided it was a short run.
