Is it okay to lose the rubber capping on the alternator positive pole? i was attempting to do it today and the cap is lost somewhere.. should i put something else over it?

I never put my plastic cap over it again and mines been doing just fine. Just keep stray wires away from it. I dunno why you'd have stray wires in your engine bay anyways so you shouldn't have to worry about it right?!
cover it! alot of voltage is coming from there id wrap it in atleast electrical tape for now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I put the orginal cap on and used elctrical tape just because the orginal one was real small, and metal was still exposed.
