Big 3 Question/Voltage Jump

I did the big 3 in my Grand Cherokee, started it up, and everything is great. Noticed a real improvement in my electrical. My stereo is not currently hooked up, just did the big 3 for when it is.

Here is my question, I was driving, and the check gauge light came on, and my voltage meter was reading 19 volts, when I went to pull over, it dropped back down to around 14 and everything was fine. I was wondering what may have caused this, and if it's something I need to worry about?
