Is it totally necessary to use a fuse for the alternator positive to the battery positive? Cause i was thinking about going and buying a 4guage amp kit form wally world and using the wire to do the big 3 for my 96' neon. Otherwise where can i go to get the eye hole ends for 4guage wire? Home depot maybe?

It is not needed if you properly install the wiring correctly.

(it is not there now is it?)

Solder the terminals onto the wire with a torch and solder.

Heat shrink over the ends using a heat gun.

Pick up the 4ga and 1/0 terminals from your local auto parts store. They come brown in color and are very very strong and work well with solder and heat shrink.

If you feel that your jacketing of the wire is insufficient then run a piece of plastic loom over the wire and zip tie it on. Refrain from using electrical tape because it melts and turns to crap.

so tell me, if you get in a wreck and severe your wire, what is gonna stop it from shorting out and causing a fire?
Mind power FTW? Alright would the fuse that comes in the 4guage kit be sufficient enough? This is for my neon which i know doesnt have a big alternator, probably 60amps or so and the fuse for the kit i think is rated at 100 something.
