i have an 88 thunderbird and im currently rebuilding it. my ? is with the big 3 wire up. i relocated my battery to the trunk so i could fit quad train horns in its place. how do i run positive and negative 1/0 guage from my 3g alt to my battery in the trunk. i dont think a 12ft run of ground and power would be good or would it? id like to run both from my alt how do i correct this problem. obviously the engine to chassis ground wont be an issue. i dont think i have a choice on the power but where in the trunk is a good ground like that of hooking up to the alt bracket. thanks guys

You can run + and -... people do it all the time. More work, more cost, etc... but it works fine.

As for telling you what's a good ground in the trunk... I am not familiar with that model, sorry.

not my trunk in particular but in any trunk. whats good to ground to that will work the best. i like the idea of running a ground from the alt bracket to the battery but with it now being a 12ft run whats the remedy?

im figuring as long as i have the 1/0 guage from engine to chassis then i could ground in the trunk with no problem. i think its important to get that good engine to chassis ground though.

i got 2 subwoofers in my trunk and i needed a place to ground to and there was nothing, i havea 95 lumina so i have a space sunk in my trunk for a spare tire with a reomvale peice of florring to cover it etc, so unless you move the floor you wouldnt see the tire... i took a sander and i sanded the metal so there was no paint a small spot like 2cm sqared then drilled a hole and bolted my ground wire down, works fine. if unsure if it will stay bolt it with a but as well, and clam it on tightly, should have no prolbems
