big 3 in 4 guage

well, your car may start because it uses the battery to start, the alternator keeps it charged, so it will eventually die once youve sucked the battery dead. easy way to tell is stick a multimeter on the alt bolt, and the other probe to a ground while its running, and see if you have around 14.4 volts.

I tried checking the voltage of the bolt I thought the pos. was, but it didnt work. now that I look at it, it looks like the plastic peice is just protecting it.

I also checked the voltage of my front battery and its in the 13.8-14.0 range, and my back battery is at ~12.4. How can I raise the voltage of the back battery? I have 1/0 power and grounds.

If it's that bad of a drop front to back try running 1/0 gauge connecting the front and rear batteries' negatives instead of grounding through the chassis.

I used up all the 1/0 but I can make like 2 or 3 runs of 4 guage for the time being haha. My ground for my amp and back battery isnt that great. Its to them metal that holds the seat down. I sanded it down, but it still has to travel alot to get to chassis.

There are virtually no spots to ground to other than seat bolts in my truck. Could a bad ground cause this bad of a drop from the front to the back battery>?

Yes probably unless the seats have no paint on them. I and most other people would advise you to get some of these: http://www.homedepot.com/Tools-Hardware-Hardware-Fasteners-Fasteners-Screws-Self-Drilling/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xr5Zared/R-100431416/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053and make you own. Sanding it down before you make the ground of course.
48 fuckn dollars? Uhh...no. Make a better ground somehow, is this a nice new car, or a older one?

ah, i see its a newer dodge. You have to find a better ground, and make it as short as possible.

bobby just drill a little hole in the florr for a bolt. then bolt a ground wire to the floor. then put another ground from the bottom of the bolt (on the bottom outside of the truck) and then go to the chassis with that one

i was going to say that, but i dont know if i would want to drill a hole in a nice truck:crap:

and just make sure u can cover it later if needed. my car is cut to hell and back but i can make it look stock with maybe an hour of work lol. little tack welding and put all the plastic panels back on and then poof OEM! lol
