big 3 in 4 guage

Im going to try to do the big 3 tomorrow in 4 guage that i have left over from redoing an install with 1/0. I dont have any 1/0 or else I would use that. I know I shoud just do it in 1/0 and be done with it, but I will redo it when I get my hands on some 1/0 later. Anyways, I have nearly 20ft of 4guage to work with and my alt is right next to my battery so I dont think I will have to run wires across the engine bay.

Im thinking about doubling or even 3 runs of grounds and power to alt if I have enough wire. The only problem is...is that I dont know how to find the pos. on my alt. It is a 2004 dodge ram 1500 and I think the alt pos. is tucked behind under the air filter. And I dont know how to get to it without taking alot of crap off. I've searched for pics on it but cant find anything.

If someone can help me out that'd be great. Really trying to beef up my electrical as much as I can so many my new amp can run 1 ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I have 1/0 power and ground through my front and back battery.

also -- When I doing the big 3, should I stick with adding wire over the stock wire to the stock grounds, or make my own grounds?

I think I might have found the pos. on the alt. It just has this little plastic peice that snaps on and off it. Its just a peice coming off a wire onto the bolt sticking out. Not sure though.

the alternator positive has to be on the back of the alternator case. there should be an elbow or bolt on the back of the alternator itself, that will be your positive. if your unsure, go to advance auto parts, or autozone website, type in your vehicle, and look at a picture of your trucks alternator to point you in the right direction without having to fumble around under your hood. also, autozonedotcom has repair guides on how to chenge your alternator and such, that will give you in depth pictures on where its located. hope that helps

I just dont see how this little thing does anything haha. Its just a plastic elbow thing that I can easily snap on and off. If this is it, then stock wiring is pathetic. Ill try to take pics.

If its what I think it is, its kind of off the side of the alternator. thanks
