Alright. this cable in the pic runs from my battery to the alt. except it has like a fuse there. can i still do the big 3? can i run it through there or do i have to do it some other way?

you can run it through, but i dont know if the fuse holder will be large enough for 0/1 gauge, you could just use a different fuse holder though

NO!! He should NOT run it through the stock fuse... Why do you think they have a stock fuse on a stock wire for? You want to fry his stock wires?

OP needs to run directly from the Alternator to the battery with a separate fuse sized for the wire...

Any wire from most companies is a good one to get... You have to watch some companies though as they may sell you a smaller copper diameter wire with more sheathing compared to a larger copepr diameter with less sheathing. most local audio companies will have spools you can buy by the foot.

Better to just do it. Any number of things can happen......none of them good. An inline 300ANL (if you are planning on 1/0 gauge) can be bought on ebay or KnuKonceptz for under $30. More than worth it.
