I'm currently in the process of doing the Big 3 and I wanted to make sure I'm doing it right. My alternator is mounted a bit deep and in a constrained spot so I don't think I'll be able to use it's mounting bolts for the engine -> chassis wire. I took some pictures of where my alternator is located and where I think I can mount the engine block (since the alt is mounted to it, it should work the same right?) to chassis wire. Basically I just want you guys to double check and make sure I can use these bolts, or perhaps I can provide more pictures and you guys can see what bolts I can use.

Here's the alternator deep at the bottom (click for big picture):

and here are two bolts I think I might be able to use:

Are those the correct bolts to use or not?

im sure you could.. but you want your grounds to be as short as possible, and from the pics i cannot judge the loaction of the alt in relation to them bolts... im sure there is a better place closer...

its about 2 feet above the alternator. the alternator is behind the oil pan and i would have to spend 2-3 hours putting my car in 'service position' to get to the alternator.

perhaps you can find something and try to circle it.. i have no idea what to do

Your best bet would be to put the car on stands and get under it.

There will be a good place to ground it right next to the alt.

There has to be a bolt on the back of the block you can ground it to.
