Big 3, Big Help Needed

well its time for me to do the big 3 and before i start i went to check and see how far my alt. is from my bat so i know how much wire i need. I look at my alt and im like WTF my alt has what looks like a harness that you find on the back of a HU. 1 little plastic clip with like 3-5 wires going into it then it clips onto the Alt. Its a 96 Ford Taurus GL. anyone ever had this problem?

I've heard of something similar to that. On the car I saw it on though it went to an externally mounted voltage regulator. There was still a bolt with the positive lead coming off of it though.

Keep looking, I don't think that plug is the only part.

Yeah keep looking, there is a bolt with the main wire coming out

I have the same thing on my Explorer. It's the voltage regulator. There's a seperate bolt, probably located below the voltage regulator. It should have a plastic hood over it. I had to move a couple of hoses out of the way to find it, but it is there

ok iv got it. 1 more question will it matter if i only do 2 of the 3 (alt to bat,bat - to chasis)?

It's called the Big 3 for a reason.
