Big 3...alt+ boot?

So the shitty little plastic cap on the stock alt+ to bat+ is too small to even mold to fit my 0g wire. I was wondering, how important is covering the connection? If water gets to it, will my car explode?

Could I just use a bunch of electrical tape to cover it? Or should I venture out to try and find a boot that'll fit?

nah, boot is just there so a wandering wrench (with hand on it) doesn't come into contact with a live wire while grounded...bad things can happen. I would do something to cover it up, just in case you ever happen to be messing with the battery and have a slight accident.
