maybe a stupid thought but it just came to my mind eariler tonight when i was adjusting my amp. my current setup is an 70amp factory alt, factory battery, brutus bx1000d, 2 12" solobaric l7's and 4ga wire + 4ga grounding kit. when my subs hit the deep low bass notes, my electrical voltage bumps down to 11.8v at the lowest and roams the 12v range...this is only on the super low and hard bass notes though.
if i really wanted my subs to hit harder, would the better investment be an HO alt (say 150amp?) because from what i know, im hearing only 70% of the actual amp's potential when i see the voltage bumping down to 12v. so im sure with an HO alt, it would stick around the high 13's/low 14's and the amp would be powering the subs at its full potential, correct?
so instead of looking forward to spend $250 on an amp that does 1500rms when im not gonna be near the actual wattage rating, im better off investing into an HO alt to get the full 1000watts from the brutus, eh?
what you guys think?
