Best ways to get rid of a squeaky dash?

Well, after a few weeks of letting my 18's beat on my truck, it seems i've developed a really annoying squeak coming from the dashboard area whenever i hit a bump or pothole in the road. This seems to be fairly common with chevy/gmc dash's. My uncles truck had a squeaky dash (just from natural wear an tear), my cuz's blazer did, and now my truck.

Im guessing its just joints somewhere inside where the dash pieces just piece together, but maybe one of your GM truck owners know exactly where?

anyways, how would you guys go about getting rid of squeaks like this? The only thing i could really think of is going through and dabbing the joints of the main part of the dash with super glue, but i dont want to do this in case the whole dash has to come off sometime.

I would not use super glue its brittle and will crack with repeated stress something more pliable like silicone woudl do the trick. Buddies truck does samething, rear hatch is 10 times worse so we gotta fix one thing at at time.

Yeah, you don't have to make things permanent with super glue. There's lots of ways to fix rattles, squeaks, etc. You can get yourself a caulking gun and some silicone and use it in problem areas (i.e. loose parts, wiring harnesses, adjoining panels). I like DAP Alex Plus from Home Depot. It's cheap at $1.50'somethin, goes on white and dries clear. Materials like sponge, foam, or weatherstripping also work well.

i thought about snagging some caulking, but i was afraid it might make things worse. Maybe i'll give that a try
