best way to spend 300 on a whole system?

i have about 300 to spend and i need to get the most i can for that....im thinkin a headunit n 4 coaxial speakers...all of my speakers are blown so i need all new ones...most of all im worried about sound clarity and loudness...i dont need much bass....i think a headunit with high power output and some good speakers would be my best bet, heres my choices so far:

headunit:

sony cdx-f5710

kenwood excelon kdc-x589

pioneer premier deh-p580mp or pioneer deh-p5800mp

my car takes 6.5's both front and back

speakers:

kenwood kfc-1789ie

pioneer ts-a1681r/s

this is just what i think would be best from what i know, which isnt much

im open to suggestions for better setups for the moneyor other products...i just need some help deciding..thanks

Anything will sound better amped. In fact, getting an amp should be a much higher priority than getting a CHEAP head unit. Also, you only need one pair of speakers for your front, so save some cash.

id say get a new headunit (pioneer 880prs can be got for about $300 online and you wont regret buying it...ever), not used because sometimes used ones have problems. and 1 pair of speakers for the front ($50 almost anything will do for now but stay away from brands you dont recognise)), forget the back speakers. and add an amp later. a little over your budjet but for the extra $50 you will get really good sound.

plus i only plan to hafve the car for a couple more years....so i dont wanna have to put anything else on it...this will probably be the extent....n if i get a 300 dollar headunit..i wont be able to get anything n i NEED to replace my speakers cuz there blown......

I say, and this is from someone re-doing thier whole system currently, go with a nice head unit and deaden the hell out of your car before you start seriously. Then, go with nice components and processing. I honestly wish I would have bought nice stuff in the beginning and had to suffer through the waiting period for saving up the money. Now, I am at a loss for all the cheap material I bought, and have had to tear everything out again, which is a royal pain in the arse.

Everything you can take with you, no problem. All you're looking for is medeocre gear to get you by. I think that you should use the stock head unit, line out converter, and some basic gear. You may find that the basic gear is all that you need. Later on, get a head unit if you are inclinded to do so, if not, oh well. You could also use the gear as a selling point and make more than $300 off of it when you sell the car.

I'm only running a frontstage currently and I can't even tell the factory 6x9s aren't there anymore... You won't miss the back if the comps in the front are good & amp'd....

Don't bother with a head unit. A good one will eat up more than 2/3 your budget.

mine now is a old jvc that skips constantly...the buttons are work out...and doesnt even play mp3 cd's...i need a new one

no i just got the car a few weaks ago n its gotta last till next fall....but the jvc is crap...i looked at it retail n it was only like 90 bux 5 years ago....my cars a 97 saturn sc2 if that really means anything
