Best way to spend $200

I will start out with what I have/have had. I have a Fosgate 360a2 amp, right now running Kenwood KDC-MP435U head unit, 2 JBL 10's (which I am trying to sell), have a 12 Alpine type r (older sub), and I have ran a single 10 kenwood. The 2 JBL's seem to be more SPL and I am going for SQ. The 2 10's were much more bass that I was after. I think one 10 would suit me well, but I would like to make sure there arent any more options. Most of the stuff I listen to is country, but I do add quite a bit of alternative and rock. This is going in a 97 4runner that is otherwise stock. Would one 10 help add the little bit of bass I am looking for, or is there a better way to invest about $200 in a system? Thanks.

umm, how about donating that $200 to me? IMO thats the best way for you to spend it.

lol j/k, but yeah 1 10" should be plenty. just get a nice sub with the right enclosure and you're good.

I have been suggested to look into a set of components. I want to make sure a sub is what I need. If I get a sub, it will be one of the ID subs. Other than that, I am not familiar with the other options, which is the reason for this post. Thanks a lot.

I think if you scrounge up $75 more dollars by the time the new SI Mags come out you won't need another sub if you can do a 12 instead of a 10. It seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

What kind of box are the JBLs in? I have two GT100 10s in a sealed box with 0.75 cf per sub, and they sound pretty good (compared to other subs which can be bought for $120 locally lol). They definitely seem closer to SQ than SPL to me. If you want better SQ I'd suggest building a sealed box tuned to JBL's specs.

Don't get me wrong, there are much, much better subs out there (such as the aforementioned Mag, or Stereo Integrity Magnum, which I am thinking about getting when it comes out). But it seems like you're on a pretty restrictive budget.

Yea, I am on a low budget. I might end up spending more if I have to. I have the JBL's in a sealed Probox with .75 cu. ft. per chamber. Each sub runs at 250 watts rms, and my amp pushes atleast 180, maybe more, but I might not have enough power to them. The 2 10's sound great when loud, but at low volumes they arent as well. I think I need fewer subs to solve the problem. I actually have it tuned now where it sounds decent (although I have never heard a good system) and may end up keeping it just so I dont loose tons of money. I am new into this, and trying to figure out how to set it up for me. If those subs are about the best I can do with my budget, so be it. Thanks everyone, any more opinions?

I would spend $200 on a deposit slip to your bank ..

then get $100 or so more & buy another deposit slip..

Before you know it your glove box will be full of them & you can trade it in for a ton of cash & get the forum boner..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
