Best way to ship to Canada?

I would suggest USPS. Receiver won't get ***** on customs and brokerage fees, plus whatever you send will end up in one piece.
However, good luck tracking with USPS. I sent a sub to someone up there and it took nearly two months. I could have walked it there in that time.

USPS - A bit more expensive, especially for large items. The buyer will save money, though, because the duties and brokerage fees will be way less. The big downside to USPS is that you can't effectively track anything once its crossed the border, and it can take a long time to clear customs. There are a few companies who won't even use USPS to ship to Canada for that reason.

UPS or Fedex - A little less expensive than USPS to ship, and better with large items. However, the buyer will get killed on duties and brokerage. Tracking is standard.

DHL - If you need to track it, send it with DHL. Much faster shipping, clears customs quickly, and duties/brokerage isn't too egregious. Really good with large items.

NO, look at my avatar. UPS is not the way to go, only if you want to piss off the buyer.

The BEST way to ship to canada is USPS. They are the fastest and best. I buy alot of things from the states and it is by far the best way to go. Last time I bought something and they sent it UPS, I paid 40% brokerage fees, these are NON-GOVERNMENT fees, ie not taxes or duties(I had to pay those as well), but UPS' own greedy fee, for doing absolutely nothing. On a 100 dollar item, I paid an additional 50 dollars. 7 for taxes, 40 for *brokerage* and then 3 for tax on the brokerage(like their providing a service or something)

As for tracking, I dont know why none of you would not think to use Canada Post's website. USPS is government owned, so obviously when it enters another country, that country's postal service delivers it to you. I always use Canada Post's tracking, its much more accurate and reliable than USPS'. So ship USPS, and use canadapost.ca and you'll see it's the best way to go. Canada's tracking info even gets updated before USPS, even when its still in the states!

Agreed. Canada Post is a very efficient and reliable shipping service. Probably one of the best in the world.
