best way to reduce noise

i need to do the same thing too.Why did it not make that noise when i had my old h.u alpine cd player in there $200hu now i got the 860premier$500hu and it makes the same f-cking noise bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz??

Your ground is shitty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif **** it make sure your ground is to clear metal and no paint on it, where is your amp grounded to btw?

ha yes which is what i figured it was as in the original post. what would be the best ground to use? i have my ground on a screw in my trunk thats screwing the bumber on i believe...its touching metal though on the inside of the trunk. just a random metal area. would 2nd skin on the metal area around the GROUND effect the ground? And i do have a pioneer premier headunit and i also heard this while this HU was in my old car on the speakers as well. and yes the subs get a noise too like while a cd is being read in the HU or right when i turn on the car...

Dont put your ground on a peice of metal that is thin and is just there to attach something to your car. Make sure where your ground goes to is fully sanded down and its metal to metal. Make sure the ground is tight to the metal you have attached it to.

Really theres alot of things it could be. Pioneer HU's could be causing your problem too.

what if i welded my ground to the side of my car? would that be about PERFECT? and also, how would running another power cord to my battery to the NEGATIVE terminal work? ill be reading this reply in the monring. Thanks for all the quick replys everyone!

I don't see why it wouldn't, hazardous.

My main ground (that feeds the distro block that everything is grounded through) is spot-welded to the spare tire mounting bracket under my trunk floor.

I have zero inducted noise in my setup. With no source playing and the volume cranked wide open you'll hear.....golden silence. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/imdaman.gif.bc6c552e19aa4ad8c47461144f40eb1a.gif

Just as everyone else has said. I have a Pioneer deck as well and was getting terrible eng. noise. I finally said fawk it and went and got a noise filter. Then can be had just about anywhere at bestbuy, circuit city and local audio shops. Most cost anywhere from 8 to 15 bucks usually. I have had mine in about 5 months and works great. I get 0 eng noise now. So that is a hell of a band aid. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
