ok me and a couple friends have been lookin to build a table, beer pong table to be exact, posibly out of plexiglass and using LEDs to light it up, but anyways.. we also want to run a HU and possibly a pair or two of 6.5s or 6x9s

now my question is, what is the best way to continuously run power to the table? should i just get a large battery like a kinetics battery or is there a way i can plug it into a wall socket, but id have to get a converter to convert it to like 12 or 14v right? id also like to be able to use a battery that will last for a few hours if an outlet is not available..

random i know but thought someone might now how to go about this power set up..

Switching or linear power supply from Astron, or an open-frame supply from http://www.surplussales.com.
Personally, I wouldn't want electronics anywhere near a beer pong table.
im runnin marine grade stuff. nd i know some other people who did a sketchy job and havent had problems.. but they ust use a car battery.. to much hassle..

Buy a portable cd player, they run off 8 D batteries, they last for hours, and only cost like $30, and they already have speakers AND play cd's!!!! YAY!!!!
Just buy a **** cd boombox, and spend youre money on a nice regulation beer pong table

Youre gonna use this table like once a month at most
every weeknd is like beer pong..

OIC ur 18 and drinkin with them young girls
But still, a car battery is the best way to do this, a regular g31 would power a simple headunit for 10+ hours

Im sure you can find one at a junkyard in good shape for $10
ha sure, but yeah goin to college next fall, might come in handy.. but we've also been wanting to do this for like a year.. im just curious as how i can go about powering the thing..

Beer pong is 3+ times a week at my house p_o

If you want easy to find, a computer power supply can work. Several of them if needed, in the case of running amplifiers. JimJ's solution works too.

Make sure the table is regulation sized. I hate small tables, or ones too large. Makes the games too short or too long. And use sorts of stuff to protect the speakers and amps/HU - not even from liquids, but from drunken antics, also.
