Best way to hook up a laptop to a tv...

what are you going to try and see from your computer? DVD or video files, or the computer?
the set does have a DVI input.

Just planning ahead for fantasy football. I use FanDraft and it's a cool program to use at Fantasy Football drafts.

Last year I had it hooked up to a tube at Wild Wings and it was so fuzzy no one could read it......so I un-hooked it. This year, I'd like to be able to utilize my tv with the program....

with a decent graphics card, you'll be fine.

just use the S-video. it ain't gonna be HD or anything, but it'll look alright.
he said a quality image.

s video blows *** on tv out, it gets way too much interference. grab a vga cable, that will give you a true 1:1 image output.

Is that good enough??

1280 x 720 x 60hz = 720p and is considered and HD output. You might have to turn off your LCD to get that, either 1 screen or the other.

I'd TRY to change the LCD to 180x720 even though it'll look like crap, and then doing the Fn F7 or whatever is your 'switch' command for displays. THEN hook the cables up and go for it.

if you get a VGA to DVI adapter and cable that'll work too.

dude, first off what kind of tv do you have exactly?
secondly, you're connecting this via your laptop? desktop? i need the specs.

and if you really want to learn how to do ANYTHING related to this topic, check out the htpc forums at http://www.avsforum.com
did you even read the first post?

he links to his tv and says it is a laptop

all he needs is a VGA->component adapter
