Best way to hook up a laptop to a tv...

and have a GREAT picture...What are my options?

just use the S-video. it ain't gonna be HD or anything, but it'll look alright.

Here's a question...I used the S-video on a normal tube tv that wasn't HD and the picture kinda blew.....Will it look ALOT better on my nice tv now or is it the laptop??

VGA to VGA will probably be better then S-Video. Had S-Video befor and it does infact blow.

Tube TV's can only go up so high in resolution, usually not more then 800x600, which is still pretty bad. It should look better w/ the new HD TV

Actually it wasn't and the above is probably right, it was to a tubed tv. I have an hdtv now though and I'm using VGA-VGA instead of the s-video, looks great on vga. Nice new TV.

I have mine hooked up to the vga connection and looks absoutley fantastic.

i'm going to eventually get a hd tv and hook it up from my desktop through hdmi. if you have an extra hdmi port on your new tv, get a vga-to-hdmi chord.

What type of computer do you have or what graphics card is in your computer?

you need a hdcp compliant video card and an extra hdmi or dvi connection on your tv, but other than that no problem!

yeah i didnt see it say vga. i made sure my tv had vga since i was buying it to play movies i had on my computer

but it should look better thna the crt tv cuz of lower reso of the crt tv like mentioned before

what are you going to try and see from your computer? DVD or video files, or the computer?

the set does have a DVI input.
