Here's a pic of my install.

myampbootbuild058.jpg

I have now bought a 2nd battery that I want to add. Both of my batterys are in the boot and I wanted to know

1. Do I need 2 fuses ( 1 on each end from 1 battery + to the other battery + as the wire will be a short run.

2. Do I still use my existing distribution block.

3. Is it best to conncet all 3 amps direct to the 2nd battery or should I use the distro block to do it.

4. Is it best to use a fused distribution block or not

To be honest Im not sure what the best way is at all.

At the minute, all amps are going to the distrobution block and I have a 60a fuse on each one in the block. The main single fuse from the 1st battery has a 150a fuse.

Whats the best way to make this as simple as possible when I connect the 2nd battery.

Sorry for all the questions, just want to get it right 1st time

So does this now mean then that I dont need the distrobution block. Whats the diffence in doing it this way except that I will have to buy 3 new fuse holders ?

no you don't need a distribution block since your running a seperate power wire for each amp off of the battery
Ok, so basically ditch the distribution block as in my pic and then 3 runs of power wire (1 to each amp) with an in line fuse connected. So in total, thats 5 fuses including the 2 from the 1st battery to the 2nd battery. The 2nd battery is only 2 metres away from the 1st so do I still have to use 2 fuses here (1 on each end) ?

I purchased my welding cable. I picked up 70mm pure copper 5 meters for a good price. Also got some ring lugs to.

can some one tell me if its 5 in line fuses in toal that I need ? 2 for the power wire from one bat to the other and 3 ( 1 for each amp )

ok, thanx, just that people been saying that I should fuse each amp and get rid of the distribution block. I suppose there is no right or wrong way in doing it then
