best thing to do?

Mixing drivers is not ideal, but it's not a big deal either.

The larger issue is you have not told us what your using for main speakers, main amp, HU, wiring, batts, alternator, other gear.

A "system" is everything involved in making the audio, not just subs. If you've got 2 sub systems with stock HU/main speakers and stock wiring you should be castrated.

Alright sorry, i have 4 pioneer 5x7"s, both my main amps, the subs, jensen HD 9312 hu, 4ga kit w/ cap, running off stock battery and alt.

sell the jl, with the 300watt amp....and get another CVR, with a 1000.1kicker amp (or a cheaper but reliable one), run some 1/0wire along with the big 3.....and whatever money you got left over upgrade your mids/highs......

or you could skip adding another CVR, and amp.....and just port the 2 CVR's you have now off of your current amp

You mean both your "sub" amps? Your running the 4 5x7's off the HU, right?

Since you say you like the sound of your subs, then leave it for now. Work on your front stage and electrical.

Get a cheap Profile amp here:

http://www.profilecaraudio.com/amplifiers.htm

Then buy the best 6 1/2" component speakers you can afford and lots of door deadening material and install them as best you can. Power them off the profile amp. Nothing less than the PG RS. Boston Acoustics or Morel would be better.

You may need another 4 gauge wiring kit. Add up the fuses on all your amps to see if your over the 4 gauge limit.

Next, do the Big 3 wiring with at least 4 gauge.

Get the biggest deep cycle batt you can fit under the hood to replace your main batt.

Figure out how many amps your alt is and how complicated/expensive it will be to get a HO alt for your vehicle.

This will probably improve your sub output, and the front (main) speakers will certainly improve your listening enjoyment and mid/bass performance.

I have no clue on my size now its a 4.0 ranger, i sit right above 14v and never go below 13v, and it was a 220amp alt.

You should seriously consider getting the HO. Do a search here and google for the brand of alt and info on the seller to make sure you getting what they claim. There are alot of bogus "HO" alts and bad sellers out there.

From what I've read, you should do a google search to check, the ranger has a notoriously small alt, but not difficult to replace.

If your research says the seller and alt are legit and it's not too complicated to replace I'd say get the HO alt, wire the Big3 (see the sticky in the electrical section) and then upgrade your batt. Money well spent.

Then your front stage speakers and amp to power them.

There's no need for a alt, shit he's only running 800rms, if that.

Like said b4, don't run seperate subs and amps in seperate boxes

I would suggest porting the cvrs, sell the jl and both amps. Buy something around 1000-1200wrms, they can take the power. Upgrad wire to some 0/1 gauge and do the big3, u should be sitting pretty after that. Also when u have more cash, buy some comps and a decent amp.
