Best SubWoofer enclosure for daily driver

Been reading about Sealed, Ported, and Band-pass enclosures for a pair of SA-12D4 subs. If I understand it correctly, Sealed gives best frequency response, ported give moderate response with SPL boost at the frequency the port is tuned to. Band pass gives poor over all frequency response but delivers massive SPL at tuned frequency. If i'm not completely wrong, I would assume I want a sealed box because I want accurate bass at all levels? Also can anyone recommend an online retailer who sells high quality boxes at requested ft^3?

you can still get accurate bass from a ported box. dont believe the myth that only sealed boxes can sound good for SQ. (I used to until I had a properly built ported box). Now I will say that your sub will not sound as good at high notes say above 70hz if you tune low like around 30hz. But if you have good midbass it shouldnt be an issue. For those SA's I'd say go ported. (tuning dependent upon your listening preferences)

you can always turn the subs down if its too much output for ya ported, but if youre not gettin enough output sealed then youre looking at a new box or bigger amp. Thats the way I like to look at it

yea, better to have too much bass and turn it down than find yourself wanting more.i allso agree ported boxes sound great depending on the woofer if the box is done right.

Generally, I use sealed enclosures in applications where space is tight. (Sealed also greatly simplifies the build)

However, If I have the space for a properly tuned ported enclosure, I prefer ported over sealed.

i like a kerfed box myself .alot of out put in these boxes ,i did one for my son tuned to 34 hertz with a dc level 3 15 and 400 watts rms in a tahoe and it slams like 1000 watt even flexes the doors

bandpass enclosures actually give a very flat response, just in a much smaller bandwidth
