Best Sub/size/enclosure for 180w rms?

I got a good deal on a Infinity 475a 4ch amplifier. It's rated at 75wx4 and/or 180w x2 rms. I plan to run the front two channels on the amp to the 6.5's in the doors to clear up the front stage sound and bridge the rear channels to one sub in the trunk. Venting the rear deck is a possibility (I like cutting things up lol, DIY is fun to me).

All that aside, I'm stuck on what to get. 10" or 12", Sealed or ported, polyfill or no polyfill, what brand or specs. I know I probably can't get much out of 180w rms but I'd like to get the most I can (if I can at all lol)... :/

It's for my gf's beater 99 cavalier that had a blown factory system. I'm not trying to do anything amazing. I just want to fill out the sound a little for her until she can get a better car to invest a better system in. She listens to mostly rock, industrial, electronic/synthesized, type music (Marilyn Manson, Korn, MSI, 3OH!3, some lady gaga type stuff, etc...)

Getting another amp is pretty much out of the question. It's either this amp and a sub or no amp and no sub. Worse case scenario I'll just scrap this plan and wait a year or two till she gets a new car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

you can get surprisingly decent output out of 180rms in the right enclosure.

depends what your looking for. Put a low RMS 12 in a sealed box for some decent output. If you want to get loud, find a larger sub and put it in a ported box, and it will get perdy loud.

kicker comp's are great budget subs for both sealed and ported. There are many, many budget subs out there that would fit your needs though

That makes me feel a little better. As for what I'm looking for, I guess it would just be a happy medium between sq and volume. It's more for her listening pleasure so she can hear and feel more of the music. I don't care about impressing anyone outside the car, and she doesn't need to pound the car to more pieces.... lol

look up kicker comp subs on ebay, they can be had for cheap, and will perform well on that low power. For the music she listens to, i would just throw it in a sealed box.

They come in 10's, 12's, and 15's, take your pick.

I have a single 4 ohm concept 10 that I will sell for 40 Shipped. I have two others doing GREAT on 150 RMS each, but they can take 250-300
