Right now i have a eclipse 12" In a .75 CF Box with 1000 watts going to it and well.... i want louder. I have a Xtant X1001 to push it with so any recomendations?? I like the sound of sealed better as I listen to mainly rock and I like a nice clean thump. If any one has any suggestions or perhaps if you have something for sale post here or send me an email at Jrverges@hotmail.com

Thanks

I think that the JL w6v2 is the best woofer on the market when it somes to sealed boxes. i also think it is the best sounding woofer on the market. it will also take 1000 watts all day long. i have a buddy that runs a 12w6v2 with a JL 1000/1 and it sounds great for hours at a time.

Those older "Audio mobile" EVO R series subs would have fit the bill for a sealed application, but the company's not around anymore.

Quote from sundownz

"Matt Overpeck now works at Eclipse.

Audiomobile shut down almost without warning -- they screwed alot of customers who sent in subs for service and/or who ordered subs and never got them. They just dissapeared without a trace leaving the customers with nowhere to turn.

PS: Ben from ED offerened to recone the Audiomobile subs at one point. ED uses the same build house as AM did so I'm assuming they can get the parts."

I think the AA Avalanche is a better sounding woofer than a W6V2. I thought my pair of rl-i's were better sounding than a w6v2. Although the JL was in a car audio shop, i got to play with it any way i wanted to and still couldnt get it to sound right. Xbl makes a huge difference. Its kind of hard to imagine untill you hear a woofer with this kind of technology for yourself. I doubt that a w6v2 will take 1k reall watts all day long.

If I were you, Id build a bigger box, atleast 1.2 cu ft or more. Double up the wood in the front and brace the inside. Then go over very carefully for any air leaks. Youd be surprised how going from an OK sealed box to a good sealed box will sound.
