Best sub enclosure

Yes a modeling program... but nothing beats trial and error. There's just no fool proof way to know what you're going to get without actually building and testing in vehicle.

not accurate at all. Hornresp and akabac can do BP if you are very careful on how you input the data and can measure impedence cures to double check what you actually built. It's still guess and check with a bandpass. Winisd is a great program to get you in the ballpark for sealed and ported though. At some point you do have to build the box and see how it performs though since cabin gain messes with things. good news is once youve done that WINISD is even more accurate since you know what that particular response curve will sound like in your exact vehicle.

Best thing to do would get a WT3 so you get accurate specs off of your very woofer instead of relying on factory specs that obviously change over time, or are just wrong in the first place.

Assuming specs are right and your looking at winisd, what do u look for to tel whether ported/sealed is better?
qts value(lower=ported, higher=sealed) and EBP value(fs/qes...low=sealed, high=ported)...those are the two main/easy indicators, with EBP being the "most accurate" to tell what will work better, since low qts woofers that have a very low fs(think TC subs), can work well in sealed boxes as well as low tuned ported boxes.

All box programs will get you 90% of were you need to be. If you are a true nut for dead on boxes, then you will rebuild the box a few times before you are truly happy with the sound and performance. Thus, answering your question. The best box, is the one you like and are happy with.

**edit** Ram is correct with his information btw

The 1 designed for the sub /recommended by manufacturer.
A lot of the time is not the best, or even close to the best, box. Most recommend smaller boxes and high tunings. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I guess so you can cram more of their product in your install?
