I've ran square subs and round subs, and I think the more cone area is a gimmick. It may hold true on paper, but the L7's didn't sound like the next size up. The 12L7 sounded like a regular 12 that got sloppy at times. Some people think squares sound good, but I don't see the benefit. I'll put it this way, My RE Se's sounded louder than the L7's. They were both 12's, but I had the first generation Se's. I don't know about the new ones from RE?
