I know its only front speakers. the alpine 9887 has a switch to go from 4.2 or 2.2 channel and 2.2 is 3 way. the manual also says that the 2.2 3 way selection allows for adjustemnts of all the slopes and corssovers for the sub mids and highs as eq for each independent driver.

like I said it only pertains to the front speakers, which the sub is not part of, so you only have 2way active capable + sub

A 3way front stage capable head unit would require 3 sets of rca + 1 set for sub(4 total)

3 way according to HU manufacturers is 2 way active + sub. 4 way would be 3-way active + sub. Difference between 2 way and 3 way active is 3 way has a mid range. Both sets have midbass and tweeters.

I would be looking at one of these.IMO These are overlooked but I have been impressed with all the ones I have installed.

Bridge channels 1/2 and 3/4 on the mids. Run 4/5 on the tweeters and bridge channels 6/7 on the sub.

2 x 175w, 2 x 35w and 600w x 1.

This would give plenty of power and the option to go 3-way front if progress to that.

The other options I could list but many will be out side of your budget. Like the JL HD900/5, Alpine PDX5.

Those 5 chnnel RF amps are another great option.IMO

I really need some more suggestions I really want the audioque But i know There has to be a similarly priced amp that has better sq with half or 75% power of the 1200d. I want to order this amp this week the speaker amp can wait but people still tell me mixed reviews on what i had planned on getting the aq1200d and the diamond d3.
