I have the alpine 9887 and I want to get a killer sq amp to go with it. I have the ascendant audio avalanche 15" and I want to power it with around 600 to 1000rms sealed. I do not want to spend more then 250 maybe 300 on a subwoofer amp. The speakers are cdt audo cl61a-25 pro and I want a nice 4 channel sq amp for these speakers as well and give them around 75 to 100rms they can take 125. I'de want to spend no more then 150 maybe 200 on this amp. sq is more important then rms ouput. Like ide rather have a 600rms sub amp then a 1200 if it has alot better sq and same goes for the speakers. I will also be doing 3 way active so i need a 4 channel amp for the mids and highs.

The amplifiers I had in mind were the Audioque 1200D and the diamond audio d3 4 channel.

Ive heard mixed feedback some people tell me this is fine others suggest this amp for both

I have an old school Eclipse EA3532 4/5 channel. It would work very well for your 4 channel amp.

Look at Diamond Audio, old school Eclipse, old school MTX, old school Phoenix Gold, old school Pioneer GM's, old school Sony XM and Mobile ES lines, etc.

BTW for 3 way active you will need a 6 channel amp. 2 way active you need a 4 channel.

yes old school Sony XM is the shizz, still rockin mines //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I know what your saying and I will consider those. do you know of anything cheaper maybe those look good. And the link someone told me it would be better then my choice but I have to disagree it was only there for reference. Ide rather have a mono channel amp but i guess it doesnt really make a difference.

oh wow a bunch of other people posted stuff so im editing this.

So I have this active thing confused, i want to be able to adjust my sub, mids, and tweets crossovers and slopes, so isnt that 3 way? Why would I need a 6 channel because I will have a mono channel amp for the sub and a 4 channel for the mids and highs and obviously all channels will be used.

I had one of those 25 to Life Power 1000s... My only complaint about it is that it was too GD big so I gave it to a friend of mine.

Edit - Here was the birth sheet on mine:

Yes, they are very big. Even the T3002 that I have sitting in my closet is huge and its only 50 watts x 2.

OP you seem to be confused on the "active" setup, active is normally used to describe the front speakers not the sub

a 2 way active is a 4 channel amp, in which 2 channels power the tweeters and 2 channels power the woofers, you use crossovers on the amp or head unit or external processor to tell what frequency range goes to each pair of speakers. So you would not use the passive crossovers that come with your component set

If you intend to use the passive x-overs then you just need a 2 channel amp
