Its time to upgrade the Infinity Reference speakers in my 2001 honda civic. They really do sound like garbage so I'm looking for a budget sq setup. Ive seen on this forum that the ID CTX65CS is a good budget sq set, but for the price is there anything better? I mainly listen to rock but occasionally i listen to rap. Also should i just run a front stage and my two 12"s and not run the rears?

thanks

+1 on this question! I'd like to know also as I'm beginning my search. Not sure what the OP is looking for but hopefully more of a warm but detailed component set....SQ!!

Some of the brands I've found highly recommended are Dynaudio, MB Quart, Rainbow, ID, CDT, a few others that I can't think of now

those CTX comps are nice but I would suggest even better are the pioneer TSD comps. The highs are smooth and the midbass is very nice as well. I have installed many of the pioneer TSD and a couple of the CTX's and always like the pioneers more

I here those ID's are nice I've been looking into them myself... I know CDT stuff has awesome SQ the thing is findind them for the right price can be hard sometimes. I still love the way CDT sounds though

Atomic Quantum 3 way w/ custom ceramic cones hands down. SQ is out of this world and will take 150rms per side if you want a custom set for a few bucks more to handle even more power I have some in stock... I had a bunch made for my suv. I run 200-225rms per side with no problem.

ceramic blend and yes its a very smooth sound. Blend from tweeter to midbass/range is great with the QT 4 but just saw the price was under 200 and well not going to happen on a 3 way Atomic set. Look at RDs top of the line 3 way and thats about = to or just under a QT 3 way. I have to say they come close to a Utopia in sq but way more output.

I spent about $200 for my 6.5 set and I couldn't be happier. SQ is great and there output stomped my DD set. Madisound and partsexpress are your friends. I can post a vid of them in action if you would like to see them.
Yes those silver flutes are amazing! I was very impressed with them. I might have to pick up 4 of them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Okay if i go ahead and get DDT tweets, Silver Flute 6.5's, and Hertz Crossovers, do you guys think that the sq will be much better then the ID CTX65CS set? Also I wasn't able to find the tweeters on those sites.
