im going to install a (LOC) line output converter into my 04 gmc sierra with the factory bose setup. my question is has anyone had any luck with tapping the rear speakers or should i use the front also at the radio or at the actual speakers, i have heard but no one has confirmed that you must use the front speaker wires and not the rear because of the bose. i have wired multiple setups befor but have never used a LOC before. any input would help. thanks in advance

Don't hook it up behind the radio. Your sub volume level will never match the other speakers. Take the inside of the center console out and you will find the bose amp. I belive the wires you need are in the plug closest to the pass. seat. I don't remember the colors. You can check them very easily by popping them with a 9 volt battery. There will be 4 wires because it is a dvc sub.

DO NOT PUT IT AT THE RADIO or the input side of amp!! That radio is already putting out a low level signal which is what the loc is designed to do. If anything tap the rear speaker wires in the back of the truck.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

id wire it behind the dash.
splice in behind the headunit where all the wires are,it makes it easier than running long wires
tap behind radio or at input side of bose amp
As said, don't hook it up behind the radio, this is fine on any other non-bose vehicle, but the Bose system will more than likely have an amp in somewhere, in that case you need to either get a wiring diagram for your vehicle, check the wires behind the front speakers to see what color they are, or touch each of them with a 9v battery (said) and see what speakers make a pop. Another good idea is to locate the stock sub (if any) and hook the LOC right onto that.

ok thanks for the tip but does it have to be tapped before or after the amp and why

sorry what i ment to say was tap for signal before the amp just not with LOC, just use a sven2 or splice some rca connectors in. you will get a cleaner signal before the amp then after it
