best place for a HO alternator

theres this guy on ebay....cant recall his name....but i sent him my alt. and he rewound it to where it'd do 13.8 volts at idle and 14.5 (i think) anywhere about 1500rpm....and it was 95 amp originally and now its at around 160 it was only around 150 bucks for shipping to and back and for him to work on it and i can tell a big diff

You remember how you found that guy on ebay? I've been looking for someone to rewind my audi alternator, since i'd have to fabricate my own brackets/etc. to fit an aftermarket alt.

well that great and all but i get more power than that when the truck isnt running, when the truck is off its about 14.1-14.2 when it is running puts out the same no matter the rpms, its about 14.4-14.6

wait if you are getting a constant 14.4-14.6 why are you looking into a bigger alt?

cause when my sub peaks my lights still dim and i figured a bigger alt would fix that, plus it start to drain my batt pretty quick and i want it to charge it faster

If i were you, and still had 14.5v with dimming lights, i'd upgrade my big-3, as well as the grounds at the amp.

well maybe i'll just get a cap, and upgrade from 8 gauge grounds to 4
