I just bought a hifonics bx1605d a few weeks ago and dont really plan on getting a new amp to awfully soon but I will probably end up getting one sometime in the near future. This time though I want to get the best I can.

So what would be the best overall amp to push two 15 inch Kicker 2005 model L5s? I am mostly for SPL but want a good sound quality as well.

They are dual 4 ohm so I need a amp that is 1 ohm stable.

Class D amp preferably.

price range?

electrical system?

i say go straight for the IA 40.1 if you have $1500 or whatever they're going for, and a couple 250amp alternators //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

x2 that will be bad as*

i might just get the zx2500...its not much more than 500 on ebay.

Are they good amps and what wattage to they really push?

How many amps?

How is the sound quality?

yep, all the ZX are 2 ohm stable, find a good KX12001, that will do them nicely.
Is there much difference between the SX1250.1 and the KX1200.1?

edit: WOW the SX1250.1 looks to be an amazing amp. loaded with features.

Buddy of mine had 2 06 model l5's 15" and i used my amp on it and it was insane loud for those kickers and we was using a ample audio A1100dx amp ran it solid for about 5hrs and never got hot and it sound really good to buy one of those around $400 new

Heres the three different options I am considering the most....not in any particular order.

One KX1200.1 Would be 600 RMS to each L5 ($316.98)

Two Zx1000.1 Would be 1000 RMS to each L5 ($591.20)

One SX1250.1 Would be 625 RMS to each L5 ($529.30)

Obvisouly the one KX1200.1 would be the cheapest. I really really like the technology the SX series has though, however thats another 200 bucks for 50 extra watts. With the ZX it would be nice running 1000 watts to each L5. Would the 05 L5s handle 1000 watts daily? Would 600 watts be enough? Anyone know how many watts the KX1200 and SX1250 actually put out?

Right now I have a hifonics bx1605d (rated at 1600 RMS) so i'm supposly runnin 800 RMS to each...but I know hifonics is overrated. What kind of change do you think there would be going from 1600 watts of hifonics power to 1200 watts of kicker power?

If it was you out of these three options which would you go with and why? Mostly between the KX1200.1 and SX1250 but the two 1000s is also an option.
