forgot to say that you need a different ecu for the vtec to work.LS Vtec is a B18a block with B16 or B18c5 head.. or any b series vtec head... a B20a block with Vtec head is from a crv.. those lil honda suv things.. both require some modifing to work and aren't long lasting motors, but make good power..
Ford 4.9L Straight Six. Good torque, decent gas mileage, and durable as all hell.
I'd say the Chevy 4.3 is a good motor too but they blow intake gaskets.
Edit... Read original post...
****, that sucks. I bet once you take the motor out it will be worth the 5 cent deposit..
10 cents if you take it to minnesota.
if you got mad cash to pay for crappy MPG.Why get a new motor when you can just roll down your window and scream VTAK!!1 when you shift?
In all seriousness, trying build a performance car when you don't even know what kind of motor you have is a slightly bad thing.
Oh and buy AMERICAN.
Are you implying that a non-vtec car cannot be turboed?i'd probably go with an ls-swap, already an improvement but lends itself to becoming ls/vtec which can then be turboed, its a relatively cost effective swap and theres a lot more fun to be had with it. (b18b i think, not 100%)
