Best mem for my comp.

what memory did you end up getting. I got here too late and i was gonna rec corsair xms ram its 61 bucks on newegg.com for 512 which is a pretty decent deal.
oh well.
I am not sure, I just got the cheapest one from tiger direct. Think it was like $87. It wasn't my money anyhow, I got it for free.

My graphics card is an Nvidia geforce 4, not sure what model.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif It works ok. better than the stock gc.

Right-click on Desktop > Select Settings Tab ... Somewhere on there, it will say:
1. Monitor Name on NVIDIA GeForce4 Model

i.e. 1. NEC Multisync XE17 on NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440
Yea, I wasn't at home, thats why I couldn't tell ya.

MX 440-SE

The mem was a PQI

Your not going anywhere with that card. If you are more concerned with video games, then just add another 256MB of PC2700 to bring you up to 512 and then get a much better vid card than that. That has no more processing ability than a GF2 GTS. You need at least an ATI Radeon 9800Pro, which is even getting old now.

512 MB of RAM isn't enough these days ...
Yeah, sadly, the MX440 SE (Slow Edition) sucks *** ...

GeForce2 GTS:

Core - 200 MHz x 4 Pixel Shaders x 2 Texel Shaders = 1600 MTexels/s

Memory - 333 MHz x 128-bit = 5.328 GB/s

Shader Version - TnL

GeForce4 MX440-SE:

Core - 250 MHz x 2 Pixel Shaders x 2 Texel Shaders = 1000 MTexels/s

Memory - 333 MHz x 64-bit = 2.664 GB/s

Shader Version - Partial 1.1

pWn3d !

Seriously, get something better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Bah... I got the graphics card for free //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I might look into upgrading after I get my new system

How come my box that the card came in says " PNY Technologies Verto GeForce 4 MX 420 64MB SDRAM"

While the comp says MX 440-SE. are they all like that or do I have a wrong driver installed or something?

Is this video card any good? Diamond Stealth S80 Radeon 9200se
No.

If goping ATI, you will need a 9800 Pro or better. Preferrably better. If you like gaming then you have to let go of the wallet when getting video cards. there is no really cheap good cards. They need to be replaced nearly once a year in order to stay current with the highest graphic settings in new games as well. PC gaming isn't cheap bruh.

Iam not really a serious gamer, so Iam not completely worried about a hardcore card. San Andreas doesn't demand much, 32mb video card, I have the ge force, and it works just fine.

I thought you wanted one that would allow you to play high detail with no hit on frames like your card is doing? The mem hike won't do that. The 9200 is no better than the Gf4 your using now, so stick with that then and stay in low res, low quality. Simple as that.

The graphics are fine i think, it's just that my ram is below the minimum requirement. The game would be really laggy on medium quality. No problem with teh frames.
