Looking at the specs, the JL 500/1 puts out the same power for 1.5 - 4 ohms. The only difference is the damping factor is twice as good at 4 ohms compared to 2 ohms (>500@4ohms vs. >250@2ohms). With that said, would it be better to use a dual 2ohm voicecoil in series (4ohms total) compared to a dual 4ohm voicecoil in parallel(2ohms total)? I know on most amps, power increases as impedance drops, but on the 500/1 it looks like this is not the case. Just wondered if there are any recommendations to running dual voicecoils in series or parallel and if it affects anything other than the damping factor in this case?
