Best fit for my system? Hertz, HAT, or Focals?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could give their 2 cents as to which speakers will best complement/fit my current sound setup.

I have been taking a look at either HAT Imagines, Hertz ESK 165's, or Focal Polyglass 165VB's. They all seem to be regarded quite highly and hang right around the $250 range.

My current system is as follows:

'98 Jeep Cherokee

Pioneer P7200HD

2 Treo SSI 12's

Kicker ZX1500.1

Stock 5.25" speakers...putting in MDF baffles to get the 6.5's in.

Thanks!

Thanks....any particular reason you recommend the HAT's? Yes, due to my budget they are gonna have to suffice with HU power temporarily. Otherwise I might pickup a sub $100 amp to hold me over.

I dont like the ESK tweeters or the woofer midrange. I don't like the Polyglass overall, too bright for me. I actually think the Alpine Type-R are better than these two based on recent side-by-side auditions.

I like everything about the Imagines.

Of course, any component set can be ran active.

The only downside to the imagines is that the high pass for the tweeter is mounted to the woofer basket. So for remote mounting a separate cap is a good idea.

But given your sub selection, you may want the increased efficiency that the ESK can provide.
