best cu/ft for sealed box

what would be the best cu/ft for a sealed box holding two 12" type-r's?

alpine recommends .7-1.0 cu/ft per sub and the specs they gave would yield a .85 cu/ft enclosure (.78 cu/ft net).

I've heard from others that 1.3 cu/ft is good as well.

so my question is: what is the best volume for a sealed box? I will be running a MRD-M1005 at a 2-ohms load (both subs are 2-ohms), if that mattters. I also have an Xterra, so trunk space is quite roomy. I listen to all kinds of music, from hip hop to opera to rock (old and new) to classics.

Help please! This is getting confusing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

so i ran WinISD and came out with 1.733 cu/ft for each sub in a sealed box. does that sound about right?

so that's close to an external measurements of 15.5"x15.5"x34.25" (i will have a .75" piece of mdf in the middle to separate the box into two 'zones' and to act as bracing).

is this a good design?
