Best comps/tweets for my situation

Jigga what?
So I am looking for some good quality components and tweets set.

The ride:

Two-door scion tC (hatch).

Powered by:

eD nine.4

65 x 4 @ 4 Ohms Stereo

100 x 4 @ 2 Ohms Stereo

150 x 2 @ 4 Ohms Stereo

These will be going in their stock locations with the components going in the lower door panel (stock location) and the tweet going right in front of the door handle. I listen to anything from Jay-Z to Cold-Play to various techno, even some Korn.

Budget:

Anything that that has a good price vs performance ratio, for my situation. I don't want to be spending $500 on a set of CDT comps when I know that they won't be reaching their full potential in my stock location.

Open to any brands.

All help is appreciated. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And of course I'll be deadning the doors and all that good stuff.

By the way I was looking at the Pioneer Rev TS-C160R for up front:

and maybe these mids (Pioneer TS-M7PRS) for the rear panels for rear fill:

Those are just something I was looking at... but I want anything else you have in mind that would be good for me.

I would bridge the nine.4 and run a good set of components up front and run some midrange woofers off the HU. I sold one of my customers a set of EF-61 and some CL-6e for rear fill and it has done well. I would look towards bridging for the front though. You'll get more out of the components and can get better components.

is it possible for you to go active? if so the DIY is way cheap and brings out great results if tuned correctly. its also perfect to go active since you already go yourself a channel amp.
I wouldn't mind going active except i'm not really upto building my own crossovers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The DLS UP6's aren't lookin too bad. Let me do a little more reading on those. Would they perform well in my doors though?

Any more inquirires, let me know!

***Edit.... after my noob-self did some more reading, I find that I could just end up going active and use the amp in 4 channel mode.

Did a search on OZ Matrix Audio Elites (the 180s) and they seem to be pretty nice.

I am looking for some "laid back" components and these seem to fit the qualifications. Any other opinions on these. Not sure about the price on these either, but that seems to be pretty good too.

The Dls are very smooth and natural sounding- I have mine in my doors and they sound great. Also, the tweets play pretty low so it really elevates the soundstage, especially male vocals- you would love these. I have written a review of them and posted it on here so if you search you can read my opinions more in-depth.

Yea, I already read it, and it seems like your opinion is slightly biased though, no offense. Every one of your posts in the speakers section, always has you recommending the DLS UP6's.

I have looked into them and I am considering them. Im just seeing what my other options are and how would they compare to each other.

One of the negatives I have heard about the tweets for the UP6's are that they can get pretty harsh. The mids on the other hand are pretty nice though.

DLS and harsh don't belong in the same sentence. DLS makes very warm sounding speakers. If you "heard" from someone that the DLS tweets are harsh, its probably their install and they might have had the settings on the tweet to high. there is no way that i would believe DLS makes harsh anything.

Hey, im just saying what I found...

Not really....The DLS tweeters can get harsh. 3khz not EQ'ed can cause some pain to your ears. Even on the -3dB setting they are still loud

The DLS mids ( MS6) are better than the CDT CL's IMO. They look better too
But then again, he mentions if not EQ'ed right so I guess I will be settling for the DLS UP6's. Hopefully that basketball grill can hide behind my stock tweeter cover. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

One more thing I wanted to clear up is what would you describe as "warm sounding".

Lets say if you had a warm sounding sub... would it be punchier or deeper. Cuz I like deeper sounding if you know what I mean.

I absolutely AM biased! I just love every Dls product I have ever heard in comparison to some really nice gear from other manufacturers- this is why I continually recomend them- in the US they are a fairly small brand that not everyone has heard of but make an exceptional product for the money. I replaced some Diamond S6's with my dls stuff and the dls is WAY better, but the diamonds in my brother's WRX sound way better than they did in my car- plus it is largely subjective. A guy I work with has some Focal comps in his pilot, and I really like the mid, but the tweet is overly bright...to me- not to others though- this is one of the reasons I fell in love with my Dls comps- the tweeter is crossed over pretty low (around 5khz I think) so it really helps them not be too bright or harsh and really lifts male vocals up (soundstage) because they play so well, and it allows the mids to play better as well- I have mine high-passed @ 63hz w 12db/oct. slope, but have run them down to 50 hz and they sound really good there too. I am biased- but I just haven't heard a set of $300 speakers that outperform UP6's and I have never heard a sub at any price that has better SQ than my Iridium.
