I would like to demo them but there isn't a dealer within 150 miles of me and even those are special order only.

A lot of people do.. have you not seen this forum? its mainly bassheads with 6 sets of door speakers etc.. thats what the Id 700.2 is for..

They look sick but I don't have a dealer within 150 miles so I think I'll pass. I have a Hertz dealer about an hour from me. I think I'll make a trip up there sometime next week. And thanks for the good info. I bet those XS mids and horns sound amazing running off the 700.2

i like the sound of my Diamond audio hex S600. if you can find a pair for the right price, pick them up. not not sharp souding, mostly soft.

Thing is for going active or 3-way, it ends up costing more in time, effort, and other equipment needed to accommodate it.

Rabbit I have a pair of dayton rs-180 mids that we could work out a deal for =] They are practically new and new ones aren't too expensive either =]

I have absolutely no clue who makes good speakers when it comes to parts express. I don't want to go active. I have an underrated 100x2 at tap and that is it. I'm not going to spend any more buying another amp. What are some drivers I should look at and consider when building my own set? and also a crossover. Links would be appreciated!

Wow man. Those are $800 sets easily. I wonder why they are so cheap? Seller has great feedback but still. Are those better than the Hertz Mlk 165's?

He has a lot of good stuff, like Arc amps and more Rainbow speakers.

I dont know why or how he can sell so cheap, except if he has a connection to a store selling out or something.

Are you going passive or active?

I mean you seem to be listening to to many opions on this forum.

you say you have 1 amp & you wont buy another amp!

I think passive is a better choice for your needs.

If you want a good to great comp set then you may want to drive the 1.5 hour drive to just to compare what might sound good to your ears.

There really isn't such thing as the best, it's more like taste.

Focal,Hertz,Rainbow,Helix,Morel,Dynaudio,Hybrid audio,Image Dynamics,SEAS,Scan Speak,etc..., make good to great comp sets.

They also make raw drivers.

Dayton,Aurum Cantus,SB Acoustics,SEAS, Scan Speak,Mark audio,H-Audio,Morel,Dynaudio,Audax,Jantzen,Vifa,HiVi,Usher,Tangband,Aura,Silver flute,ETON, Lpg,etc...., the list goes on & on.

RAW drivers that can soun just as good premade factory comp set.

The most important part of installing car speakers in a car is Placement,Deadening,Aiming,Tuning,& knowing what you like.
