are the 2 best places IMO

and I dont knwo of anything thats both "cheaper and better" than a type-r, but there are definitely better subs out there.

you get what you pay for... but i dont think u can beat a type-r for the money

I just picked up 2 Phoenix Gold RSd12d 12" subs off ebay for ~195 shipped. I was trying to make the same decision he was. Based on recommendations, these are suppose to play lower, and sound better, though the type r's might get a liiiitle bit louder. I went low, clean, with pretty much the same output. I'd check them out. Mine will come in on Thursday.

Are these statements assumptions from what you have read from random people on a forum you don't even know, or are they based off of experience from actually hearing both subs???

Because I've actually owned a few type-rs in my day, as well as have 2 sitting here right now, and I have heard many many other setups and I will say, for the money, none of them beat a type-r setup, besides MAYBE the kicker cvr or l5's getting close in terms of spl/sq/price ratio

i got my R's from sonicelectronix, but had to use store credit that i had left.. u can definitely find cheaper elsewhere.. they do have competitive prices tho

And like said before, for the price theres nothing really comparing to it honestly
