Best Buy Vs. Circuitcity

Yup, and with no manufacturer warranty and no guarantee or knowledge of the products history (i.e. it's likely B-stock). Plus, when you buy local, if you have any problems you can exchange it right there in the store and usually walk out the door with another brand new item.....no waiting on shipping there/shipping back (if the online store will even allow an exchange), etc etc. Wow, what a wonderful deal the internet is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying retail. If you are smart and have even minute negotiation skills, you don't have to pay full MSRP at shops/BB/CC.

Local > internet
Eh it depends. The sound advice here wanted over 800 for the pioneer 9600 when it first came out. Online stores: about 400. Hell bb/cc whichever one it was wanted 250 for a 10l5? Whereas I could get 2 12's for less than that. But other than that I know what you mean about talking the price down. If they wanna keep their job they gotta sell stuff, and I use that to theb est of my knowledge.

On a side not this guy was being an *** to my friend in cc one time, and we heard this kid talking to one of the employees about getting a cd player installed. We asked him how much they wanted and he said all together it would be like 70bux. My friend offered to do it for 30 and 30 min later we were 30bux richer. x2

They opened a best buy in town here a month ago and i went there and all i could think was its just another circuit city. They dont have very good equipment. They wont carry the top models of the brands they have. If your going to buy from either buy from who is the cheapest.

I am going to have to disagree with this one. Online sales have done wonders for myself and my friends. There is finally a place that financially challenged people can go and get good products. Didn't you buy an RL-p recently?? Just think of what a bricks and mortar shop would have done to the price of that thing if Mike weren't trying to buck the system. I think that the internet serves as a wake up call to all local shops that are @$$ raping people. I am not sure where you live, but around here even the best negotiation skills can't yield very good results. The circle of DIYer's I am in actually understand the proper usage of equipment, therefore the internet has proven to be a good friend indeed.

In addition to what you said about exchanging products on the spot, that is another thing that doesn't generally happen.

a stereo shop isnt rapping (ripping) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif you they have overhead bills employees to pay..... if they all were ripping you off and making bank why would alot be going out of business? plus with soundsplinter you are dealing right with the manufacturer directly. like with jbl only people who do that are shops unless u r mark elderidge or gary biggs lol

Sure, but with large risks involved.

Two different things //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Unauthorized internet sales are totally different than "internet companies", where you can buy direct from them and receive full warranty, etc etc. I'm not trying to compare Adire, RE, Stereo Integrity, Soundsplinter, etc to Best Buy or Tweeter. I'm talking about Indoaudio compared to Tweeter or Best Buy. Two totally different businesses.

I think that the internet serves as a wake up call to all local shops that are @$$ raping people.

*** raping? Have you ever tried to run a local shop and the costs involved? Internet is only cheaper because of the risks involved and lower overhead. It has nothing to do with local shops *** raping people. Totally different ball games

Well, sorry 'bout your luck. I've never paid more than 65% of MSRP, and have exchanged products over the counter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Local authorized > Internet unauthorized

you know i worked at best buy for 2 yrs and honestly ppl say the sales ppl are d*cks and honeslty most of them are. but the main reason is one everyone that comes into car audio whther it be 15-65, they all know everything which gets very irratating. most employees dont know what the hell they are talking about but some do. as far as paying for the stuff cheaper online who cares most of the time your screwed if something goes wrong. at best buy you buy something get a 4 yr service plan on it and then every year when a new one comes out you take it right back in and say you diplay keeps turning off at random times and they swap it out for a new one they actually give you the credit you paid for it originally. another thing that cracks me up is ppeople always get pissed at me when i tell them that we dont have lay-a-way or because the price is too high. first off if anyone know anything about retail companies that offer layaway dont stay around too long especially when people all want to put on layaway the 59.99 dynex radio for 2 yrs. and second we dont make the prices if i did im sure im not going to hook u up though especially after you just got shitty with me cause you think you have a huge d*ck. now circuit on the other hand im not sure about anyone else i can walk into that place with 10 grand pouring from my a$$ and driving a lambo and they still continue to be ignorant. but now that i just typed a novel im done.
