I got some $40 one from wallmart like 5 years ago. Escort or cobra brand. Works great. Plenty of range and has helped me many times.

My friends had 100-200 dollar ones and they all worked the same way, just bigger screens and more options. I just wanted to know if there was a cop running radar nearby.

STAY AWAY from Cobras. Absolute trash. Escort 8500s go for around $110 I believe, and the Escort 8500 x50s go for around $150 used. I have a BEL V995 bought for about $200 great radar detector.

Best bang for the buck would def be a Escort 8500 X50 for $150 on ebay.

They are all trash. By time any of them detect a signal the cop already has your speed.

If you seriously want to speed do some research on laws in your state. Here in MI its legal for us to use a radar jammer.

If you cant use one and you have an iPhone or Droid phone get the spotacop app for $2.

False. For one, I have been saved by my radar way too many times, at least a couple times a week. Second, the first part of your statement is true if the cop is using the laser to get your speed, it will always pick up radars. Where I'm from 90% of the time most cops drive around with their RD on.
