Best Box for Type R's

i am downgradeing from my two 12" Power T1's to a single 12" Type R should i build this box ported or sealed? how big should i make it? just seeing what you guys think...thanks

3 cubes with 50 squares tuned to 35hz.

2.75 cubes i have found the best. i have made a port as big as 52 squares but gained no output to the ear. 40 square min. for a loud daily that still hits lows 34-36

2.5 tuned in the low 30's is what I would do. BTW there is a type r thread that is stickied.

for a 12 yes 3.5 is too big however try it out and see how it sounds... not gonna be as loud but it might sound a little better... build another box 2.5 cubes 32hz

im using a 2.7^3@32hz. sounds great and gets loud for what it is, but i wish i would have done 30 hz to help out the lows a little

You could always fill the box with some rigid insulation to take up some room. No? Thats what we used to do with sealed boxes. Ive never built a ported box though. I like sq tooo much.

Just built one at 2.25 cubes and tuned to 35hz for a type r 12, sounded awesome.
