Best Box for JL 12" w6v2

Whats the best box for a single JL 12" w6v2 running off a JL 500/1? Wouldnt the H.O. Wedge and ProWedge boxes made by JL be the best? Or would getting a custom box made be better?

the best box is totally up to your taste. if sq is most important to you, go sealed. if you want to go a little louder, go ported. the way the box is tuned depends on your taste in music/sound.

The HO box would be better if you want a bit more kick for your larger vehicle, since it is a special JL designed port (no one else can make boxes like that, JL has the patent). A JL 500/1 is the perfect amp for that sub so no worries there, good luck.

although they do have a patent, that doesnt stop too many from building their own...plus, if you know the right people, you can get the box designs for them

I think you really should just build your own box. That way you get to choose all the parameters which will determine how your install sounds. It is not as hard as it seems and there is plenty of tutorials located on these forums.

my friend has his in 1.5 ft^3 each tuned to 32 and boy do they sound great
