Best Bang for my Buck 8"-10"

Hi fellas. I just purchased a new Scion xB (Open cabin) and I'm looking to add a sub to the compliment the stock system which I plan to upgrade later.

I primarily listen to Trance, Electro (Pretty much all EDM) and the occasional Rock and Hip Hop.

To power this sub I picked up an Alpine MRP-M500. 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms).

Please recommend a sub and type of box I should use for that sub. Thanks!

Whoops. I would say $80-$140. I'm not even sure how much a box should cost but ideally I'd like to spend under $200 for both

Currently looking at the Sundown E-8 V.2 but its still a prototype and I'm getting anxious!

I was actually looking at the Mach 5 too. Will my amp be able to power it?

yea one of them will be fine

id look at the idqv3 if you are going the single sub route also

I'm thinking a sealed box would be best since I'm a little limited on space. Seems the Mach 5 is the best choice so far. I'm just afraid my amp is a little underpowered for it.

Any prefab boxes recommended for the Mach 5?

Make one or have someone make one. A lot better than any prefab an more than likely cheaper. I can make one if interested

sell your amp and get a more powerful one then, they seem to sell for 100 bucks

you can get a mb quart or jbl gto amp for around 125 new that put out 1000 to 1200 rms

He's already got an amp.... Why is it so hard to try and work with the power he already has? Not everyone has to have 1kw to sound good and get loud.

Is that alpine 1 ohm stable? If not, it's been awhile but I believe the dual 2 ohm can be wired to 8 ohm and the dual 1 to 4 ohm. If so 250 wouldn't be perfect for that mach 5. A dual 4 ohm wold give him 2 ohm to use the 500 he has, which is plenty.

If I'm understanding this correctly with my amp, I can either wire the (Mach5) Dual 1 Ohm coils in serial or Dual 2 ohm coils in parallel for 500W Rms.

Now is 500w rms good enough for the Mach5? I know it says 800w max but what is the RMS?

I installed a 10" IXL in a buddies s10 an wit only 400ish an itsounded great. If its not satisfying enough then get a new amp.

you can get a dual 1 an wire it to 2 ohms
