I need an amp for a Sound Splinter RL-P. I wanna spend like 250 or under, and i want it to put out around 1000 watts at 2 ohms. Lets hear some suggestions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I just want the absolute cheapest amp that won't ****. Ive been looking around http://www.ikesound.com but haven't narrowed it down yet.

super sub + wimpy amp = mediocra SQ
crack open the wallet and get some JUICE
It's solid state we're talking about here...as long as he doesn't run it into clipping, he's good.

I asked if used was an option because a JBL BP1200.1 will do a solid 1.3kW into a 2 ohm load, and should be found for under 250.

250 is a deal on the JBL

JBL > Hifonics all day long

you think 1000 watts rms is gonna be wimpy? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Doesn't 1300 watts sound like overkill for a SS RL-P? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Its gonna be in a small sealed box.

Well, they're discontinued.
But you should be able to find refurbs and returns to Sounddomain from time to time, as well as ones on Ebay.
I can't find any on sounddomain, and i can't find any on Ebay either. And i don't wanna over power the sub either, 1300 watts rms is a shitload for one sub.

it all makes sense now. i personally would stay away from used or discontinued stuff just because of the warranty stuff. but then again i have to have it warrantied because i beat the shit out of my stuff. (car audio stuff only though)

You don't have to run the amp at full power, you know...that's what the gain controls are there for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
i guess you are right. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Well, i would love to get a JBL 1200.1, but i can't find any!!!
