best amp for mofo 12s

Those power acustik amps aren't half bad for the price .. Just put a 4000 bamf on a single lethal injection locally .. And it's doing work staying nice and cool .. Bgowdy has talked about them alot so I figured I'd put one in a install .. Was a big step up from a Memphis 1000 rms amp .. Nowhere near rated but a easy 1,500 / 2k

My buddy compared that same PA amp to his rockford T1000 amp and said the PA amp was pushing his sub with more excursion but it didnt produce as much sound as the RF.

I think the 5500 does 2k clean, not bad for the price

This. As much as I hate seeing people waste money, sometimes the people on this site rip noobs to pieces.

If you insist on PA subs then just get a PA, AP, or VVME amp to run them... No need in getting a good amp for those subs... & The c2 subs are OK - But my Sundown SA-12 with a SMALLER 2.5" voice coil takes more power daily than any of those so-called 3" voice coil C2's, so What's really better - hmmm??? I paid $100 shipped for my SA BTW in case you were wondering... & YES I would buy another USED SA anyday over a NEW c2...

idk... i had a new style mofo 15 on a SAZ-2k @ 1 ohm and it did pretty good, got a bit warm at times but it never blew.

trust me op, i've heard the mofos in the best install it could have been in, its not as loud as a 600 rms sundown sa-12 given that both are in optimal boxes and power.

Planning on getting two mofo 12 inch subs (1200w rms I believe) and plan to run them at 2 ohm. Maybe 1 ohm. Was looking at power acoustik's 4000 watt amps but they aren't CEA certified so I was wondering what would be the best option for an amp

OP, i like power acoustik, well some of the stuff, but honestly i would also suggest the C2 audio 12's. but if your set on the mofo's thats fine. like said above if you are wanting to stay cheap on the amp i would go with the Apsm2000. if you want a power acoustik amp as well i would go with the BAMF5500, you can get 2k and maybe alittle more out it. i myslef like the BAMF5500's and really like them. they produce 2krms+ clean. they are however rated at 16v, BUT will do the 3200rms @ 16, ive seen them clamped and it 3216 rms....... even tho it protected after about 4 seconds lol....

also CEA certs dont mean anything, its just a 4 ohm rating

no & no..... just seen vids and what not. for the price i would like to try them my self since they are such low powered lol. i wish they made a 18 lol
