Best amp for CDT HD-62?

my price range is $150-250, also do you think i should get rear speakers as well?
I'd say skip the rears and put that money towards a great component amp. The Memphis would be a great choice and there are other amps that would serve your needs well, probably too many to mention. Most guys just tell you to buy the same equipment they run because, naturally, they think it's the best. Not saying it's bad....it's just natural instinct I guess.

Do you want a 4 channel or a 2 channel?

Or some of us know that there are endless possibilities so we recommend what is easiest //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Agreed:naughty:

Wow looks like the HD-62's are rated at 180 watts rms. In that case you might want to look into the MB Quart raa2400. It does 200x2@4 and is quite underrated. I had it on my Quart Premiums and it was a great sounding amp. Best of all it can be had at Crutchfield for $209 authorized!! If you are interested in it., PM me and I will give you the links and code to get that price.

BTW where did you buy the CDT's and for what price (PM with info //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) Thanks!!

sorry i should have posted the specs:

Model: HD-62

6.5" 2-way

Midrange: 6.5" Cast

Crossover: SatNet-480 24dB

"Phase Perfect " Elliptic 4th order 2-way

Tweeter: DRT-25 extended range 1” silk tweeter.

Power handling: 180 watt RMS @ 100Hz High Pass

Frequency response: 65-20kHz

Sensitivity: 92.6 dB.

Impedance: 4 Ohm

Surface & flush mount swivel tweeter

I know there are many amps out there but i want to know which one is the best for these comps. for the price range i set. Maybe you can give me the top 5 best.

Thanks for the replies,

Sergio

I don't think the 480 crossover is going to like the 180+RMS too much. You might want to look into getting a pair of 560 x-overs.

Yes sir!! I absolutly agree. If you put that much to them your going to have problems with the crossovers sending the tweeter section into protection.

Also even with 180 and the 560 x-overs you will want to be carefull. make sure you HP them correctly. They wont like 150 per side infinate baffle with a low x-over point. I know this from experience.

Aaaaa must be why the say 180w rms @ 100 HP. Never seen speakers with that specific rating recommendation. CDT must really know its stuff. Do they bottom out if you try to run them any lower at high power? Or is this just if you are running them in your doors?

Mine have 150rms per mid (I have an active system) crossed over at 63hz. This is for rock. Rap they are crossed over at 80hz. They will bottom out at higher volumes.

Also trust me you WILL want the 560 crossovers if you are going to run a passive system. They 480s are just not up to par with them.

Guess what guys! My speakers came with the 560 x-overs in the box. i guess the website is wrong or they upgraded them.

Now what is the best amp for my speakers at this price range $150-250, so far i have the Diamond D5600.2s listed for the 560 x-overs.

also i have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee overland, and the front speakers are 6x9's and the cdt speakers are 6.5, where can i find plates to make them fit properly?

Like I said earlier, you have tons of options. Just find an amp that does 150-200 watts per side and watch the crossover to hake sure they dont bottom out.

You local audio shop, or circut city/best buy might have a set of baffles for you car. Try Crutchfield or partsexpress also. If all else fails make some out of MDF, they will be just as good as the ones you buy and be cheaper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
