Best amp for around $200?

okay this cats are trying to lean you in the wrong direction, for one the power ak is underrated you are not getting the actual power that it says, two for two hundred you can get a cl600M 600X1 and its a mono from ikesound.com, for the CVR depending on if you want to run 1 ohm 2 ohm stable from the amp, go to crutchfield or sounddomain they have wiring charts. I'm in the same boat, I was planning to buy the CVR DVC 2ohm and running them at 2 ohm giving them 800X1. You can also look at the coustic 801DB its a class D amp. Both amps are nice and they do much better than the other crap you was giving, ikesounds.com has the best prices for buying equipment or look at http://www.justamps.com

ikesound has good prices, not the best. and there is absolutely nothing wrong with a jbl600.1

I've been out of audio for a while, but I'm getting back in now. It seems there are some strange recommendations in this thread.

OK, so you've got two subs. I didn't catch what the voice coil configuration is, could you post that so we can help you better?

Now, if you're putting them both in one box, you can wire them both to the same post so I have no idea why you would want a multi-channel amp. You definitely want a mono-block. And a class d would make a lot of sense because to go class a or b would put a serious drain on your power supply without really giving you anything in return. Class d is fine for subs, so that's what you want. Class d amps generally produce peak power at 1 ohm loads, so you want to get as close to that as you can with your subs.

I don't know how much they're running, but don't waste your money on cheap amps. You'll regret it. Look into Directed Audio (DEI). They make a **** good class d amp, and back their stuff with a lifetime warrenty. You can trust their power ratings too. I think DEI is the way to go. If you can't afford them yet, save up a bit. Look around and make sure that whatever amp you're buying is from a good, dependable brand. Amps are critical to your setup, and cheap amp is going to give you more headaches than it's worth.

the subs im getting are DVC 4 ohm, but they also have DVC 2 ohm, i still dont know which ones to get, i am going to get a mono amp, thats no question, ill look into the DA but if its too much i am probably going to go with the kicker kx 400.1, but i was also looking at the rockford 501s, but its not a mono amp, its 2 channel
